Methodologies
Students will experience a combination of musical methodologies including the Orff-Schulwerk method and the Kodaly approach. They will work on sight-reading and sight-singing a variety of songs with voice, melodic instrumentation and percussion. Students will use body instrumentation and percussive instruments with an emphasis on rhythmic development and improvisation. Students will receive a grounded and thorough musical foundation as they complete their music education at Greenwood.
My goal as an educator is to provide each student at Greenwood the opportunity to appreciate music in its many different forms, experience the community and collaboration that comes with music-making and leave them with a skill-set which they will have as a lifelong music consumer.
